Child support payments and maintenance orders

Child support payments will stop when you turn 18. If you are still finishing year 12 at the time, your parents can apply before you turn 18 to extend your child support until the end of the school year.

The Family Court can make a special order for financial support to continue so you can do further study after year 12. Ask your mum or dad to contact the Family Court of Australia on 1300 352 000 or consider making their own private arrangement.
